Factors affected with C.V.A.



Abstract
This oberservation was made on 210 cases of C.V.A. that were confurmed through brain CT-scan. They were hospitalized in the two oriental medical hospital in Seoul from February 1994 to January 1995.
The results were summerized as follows; 1. Male to Female Ratio of C.V.A patients in hospitalization was 11.26. The primary C.V.A. occured more frequently for female than male while the recurrence was vice-versa and there was significance in the test of indepence. 2. In age distribution, seventies was the top and sbdties, fifties, forties were in the order of fregeuncy. The large city was the most frequent residential site and unemployment was the most frequent occupation to have C.V.A. 3. There was not independence in the past-history and taste(p<0.05). Especially, the incidence of C.V.A. became higher as C.V.A. patients have a fancy for hot and saity food. 4. The most ordinary preceding disease was hypertension. In the relationship of diastolic blood pressure with recurrence, there was significance in the test of independence. 5. IN the past-history, the primary C.V.A. was 81.4% and recurrence of C.V.A was 18.6%. The most important precipitationg facotrs or conditions at the onset of C.V.A. were rest, sleeping. The most ordinary precedent symptom was verbal disturbance, numbness and dizziness. In the C.V.A. patients with hemiparesis, male and - female patients usually showed Lt hemiparesis. 6. As a result of brain CT-scan, Cerebral hemorrage was omc;omab;e tp reduce but Cerebral infarction was inclinable-to increase for senility and the change of lifestyle. 7. Total cholesterol Findings disclosed that 22.4% was hypercholesteremia, 18.69,65 was hyperlipemia in triglyceride Finding and 19.0% was glycosemia in glucose Findings. According to the above results, we must restrain meant, salt food and control positively hypertension and diabetes mellitus in terms of C.V.A. prevention.
